galerie frank elbaz is delighted to announce that KADIST has acquired Le bleu du ciel, le bleu de la mer by Japanese artist Machiko Ogawa (b. 1946, Sapporo; lives and works in Yugawara).
Ogawa, one of Japan’s leading contemporary ceramicists, explores geological formations, mineralogy, and the transformative effects of heat and pressure. Recent highlights include her participation in the 2025 Aichi Triennale, Japan, curated by Hoor Al Qasimi. She was also included in a group exhibition at the Pola Museum of Art, Japan, and will feature in a forthcoming exhibition on Japanese women artists after 1945, curated by Florence Ostende, opening at MUDAM Luxembourg in September 2026 before traveling to the Guggenheim Bilbao and the Lenbachhaus, Munich.
