A new body of works deals with the concept of monstrosity.

The initial point is the usage and transformation of second hand worn leather jackets, as a semiological sign (of rebellion, independence, thuggishness and also as first tool for land colonization that allowed humans to regulate their body temperature in harsh climate) but also as well as a base material that I reconstruct, dissect, and sculpt.

A sort of ‘skinning’ of a fashion garment and transforming into a representation of sort.

Inserting into garment’s sawing seams the taxidermist eyes, the apparent figuration alludes to a disturbing bestiality and menacing monstrosity that is observing us. A sort of a formless leather Roscharch test looking back.

The concept of monstrosity can be seen as a formalization of anxieties because it represents a visual manifestation of our fears about the world around us and about the time we live in.

Monstrous figures are often representations of the unknown, the abnormal, and the threatening, and as such, they serve as symbols of our deepest angst.

The notion of monstrosity is used to critique societal norms and today’s values, highlighting the anxieties and fears that exist within the cultural context. For example, the portrayal of monstrous figures in horror movies often reflects our apprehension about social issues such as race, gender, and sexuality.

By creating these monstrous representations, I hope to question some societal patterns, creating a space for critical reflection and discussion. I hope to gain a greater understanding of ourselves and the world around us, and work towards a greater sense of acceptance.
